Vintage Clear Glass Drug Store Counter Display Jar

Vintage clear glass counter display jar from pharmacy or drugstore. This large and heavy jar weighs about 4 lbs. It is about 4 1/2 in square by about 11 3/4 in tall. It is an older mouth-blown jar showing an open pontil mark on the bottom. The opening is about 3 1/2 in wide - big enough to get your hand into the jar! The heavy ground glass stopper (which is loose) is one of the most beautiful stoppers made - it is often referred to as a "sunflower" as you can see in the pictures. These bottles were typically used to display items for sale, such as candy or small wrapped items. The bottle and stopper are in good used vintage condition. There are two manufacturing defects in the sidewalls, and a fleabite on the inside lip of the jar and two fleabites on the outer rim of the lid (barely discernible, but there).
